The short version: we use strictly necessary cookies only — the ones that sign you in and keep the app secure. We set no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you won't see a cookie consent banner on either site.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device so it can recognise your browser — for example, to keep you signed in between pages. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and UK GDPR) requires consent for cookies except those strictly necessary to provide a service you've asked for. Everything we use falls in that essential category.

This website is a simple informational site. It sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or third-party scripts.

Cookies in the app (record.colonypilot.co.uk)

When you sign in to ColonyPilot, the app sets the following cookies:

`.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.*`	Security — protects forms against cross-site request forgery attacks.	Until you close your browser.
Sign-in helper cookies (`.AspNetCore.Identity.*`)	Used briefly during the sign-in process itself.	Minutes.

The app is also installable and caches its stylesheets, scripts and icons on your device (using your browser's cache storage, not cookies) so it loads fast on a poor signal. That cache contains no personal data and you can clear it from your browser settings at any time.

Third parties

Cloudflare — both sites are served through Cloudflare, which protects them from attacks. Cloudflare may set security cookies such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance to tell humans from bots. These are strictly necessary and are described in Cloudflare's cookie documentation.
Stripe — if you upgrade to a paid plan, payment happens on Stripe's own checkout pages at stripe.com, not on our sites. Any cookies used there are set by Stripe under Stripe's cookie policy. Your card details never touch our servers.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because everything we set is essential, blocking cookies for record.colonypilot.co.uk will stop you being able to sign in — this website will keep working normally.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add cookies beyond the essential ones listed here — for example, analytics — we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.
